Andrea Bishop splits her time between Vancouver and Salt Spring Island, Canada. Her work has been published in The Masters Review, The Fiddlehead, Cleaver, Peatsmoke, Grain, and elsewhere. Andrea was the winner of The Malahat Review’s 2026 Open Season Fiction Award, and in 2025, her stories were recognized by the CBC Short Story Prize, PRISM International’s Jacob Zilber Prize for Short Fiction, The Malahat Review’s Far Horizons Award for Short Fiction, The New Quarterly’s Peter Hinchcliffe Short Fiction Award, and DISQUIET’s Literary Fiction Contest. Andrea is grateful to have been awarded a grant by the Canada Council for the Arts to work on her debut short story collection, now complete, and is currently revising a novel. She’s a morning person who appreciates forests, dogs, quests, and spreadsheets. When not writing, Andrea works as a health care management consultant.
